ANOTHER VICTORY PARADE
The March 28, 1939, after almost two and half years of siege and resistance, the city of Madrid was to be given to troops Franco. Fulfilling orders of Colonel Sigismund Married, which earlier this month it had taken control of power in the Republic after a coup against the Government of Negrin, the Colonel Adolfo Prada also goes to the ruins of the Clinical Hospital , to hand over the city to Colonel Slabs, who commanded the 16 Division of Franco's forces occupied part of the Casa de Campo and the City University. With this symbolic act will put an end to almost a thousand days of fighting that had claimed the lives of thousands of people, although many more would die later.

Franco's army almost entirely around the city is preparing to finally enter the city after not having been able to achieve after several attempts with guns. The honor of doing so in the first place is reserved for troops who have remained in the University City, arguably the toughest area around the front, where the positions of both sides have been separated by few meters, occupying a certain faculties and rest the other side. In this situation, which has remained virtually unchanged since November 1936, the casualties have been very high on both sides, and have also been enormous hardships they have had to experience, so they are chosen to go first in the city.

Entry would be by the main avenue leading to the University City ie the current Princess Street during the Republic had called Vicente Blasco Ibáñez. In front of this parade unique is a young lieutenant of Engineers Regiment No 7 Valladolid, José María de Yturriaga, which would be filmed and photographed for various media, making the image of the time. But this makeshift "victory parade" staged a tremendous drama, was the staging of the irreparable division between the two Spains to that referred Machado, was the document graph showing as opened a devastating injuries that would take decades to close, for much of the nation began a long period of difficulty, repression, violence and hardship. The timing of the entry tells us the hero, José María de Yturriaga, as follows:

"First we had to blow up a wall built by the republican army prevented us step up to the perfume Gal ( Galaxy present building) and then enter. We lay on the ground to prevent us from falling debris in the head. Then, on foot, marched down the street from the Princess and Leganitos and a little later, in the Gran Via, were photographed and filmed "(published in El País 3.28.2009).

have had to pass seventy-one years and some days the time for another "victory parade" through new Princess Street, but this time, unlike him, did not mean any break or discord, in contrast, has become a meeting ground for the vast majority of English, for the first time in many years, and perhaps one of the very few occasions throughout the history of this country have agreed to a common cause. In our previous review we talked about this time compared to Spain with paella, and there have been countless lines that have been written in different media for the record of this social phenomenon and its importance. Therefore in this review we will merely refer to chart this time, comparing some of them with images of that month of March 1939, so contrary to the vivid sign that July 11, 2010.
